Comparing confinement centre prices in Malaysia? This guide is prepared by the Care Lady team at Roseville Confinement Villa & Spa, a Muslim-friendly confinement centre in Bangi Gateway, Selangor.
How much does a confinement centre cost, and what drives the price?
There is no fixed confinement centre price in Malaysia. Costs depend on the length of stay (see how long confinement lasts), room type, night-time baby care, meals, traditional care inclusions and extra charges, so similar quotes can offer different value.
We don’t publish other providers’ prices, as there is no official source to verify them. Compare cost per day and inclusions instead.

What is included in the package price, by length of stay?
Every Roseville package includes a private room with its own bathroom and baby cot, four confinement meals a day, 24-hour baby care by trained staff, herbal, flower and warm sitz baths, and a gift basket for mother and baby. Longer stays add traditional care and spa sessions.
- 7 days or longer: traditional full-body massage; foot spa, tungku, param, pilis, tapel and bengkung; body scrub or sauna.
- 14 days or longer: hair wash. 21 days or longer: facial.
- In the room: towels, a telekung, body wash, shampoo and daily housekeeping.
Your husband can stay at no extra charge; see can husbands stay at a confinement centre. Massage, tungku and bengkung are traditions for comfort and make no promise of medical results. After a caesarean or complications, get your doctor’s approval first (C-section confinement guide).

Extra charges and what is not included
At Roseville, laundry is charged and some services can be added during your stay; spa sessions follow spa menu prices. Doctor check-ups are not included, as Roseville is not a clinic; you pay the clinic or hospital directly.
- Extra night: RM186 (Standard), RM210 (Exclusive) or RM235 (Premium) per night.
- Laundry: RM40 per 10 kg.
- Public holiday charge: RM400 a day for each gazetted public holiday during your stay.
- Late check-out: RM50 an hour.
- Extra meals: RM130 a day (4 meals).
- Extra mother and baby care, breastfeeding guidance or an extra gift basket: RM100 each.

Medical costs and newborn jaundice
There is no doctor on the premises. If a check-up is needed, we can help arrange an appointment at the clinic or hospital of your choice; you pay them directly. MyGOV states that mothers should have a health clinic check-up one month after birth. A jaundiced baby must be assessed by a doctor; if your baby is still in hospital, let us know so we can adjust your check-in date, subject to availability.
Deposit and payment: staged payments, credit card or transfer
To secure your dates at Roseville, you pay an RM1,000 deposit, deducted from the package price, then 50% of the balance 30 days before check-in and the rest 7 days before check-in. You can pay by instant bank transfer or by credit card at the Roseville counter. The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel. Valid KOPETRO members and their families get 20% off the normal price; contact us to check eligibility.
- Cancellations made less than 14 days before check-in are not refunded.
- Promotional prices are valid until 31 December 2026. Due after that? Ask which price applies to your dates.

How to compare confinement centre and confinement lady quotes
Compare quotes in three steps: work out the cost per day, list what is included, and ask about unlisted charges. Use the same unit for every provider, as some price by the day and others by the night.
The cost-per-day formula
Cost per day = total price ÷ number of days. For example, Roseville’s 7-day Standard package: RM6,100 ÷ 7 = about RM871 per day. For a confinement lady, add the groceries and confinement items you pay for separately.
Hidden charges to ask about
- Laundry: included or charged?
- Public holidays and festive seasons: any surcharge?
- Husband and family: can they stay, and are their meals charged?
- Extra nights: what do they cost, and what is included?
- Night care and spa: included or extra?
- Deposit: when is it non-refundable, and can dates change?
What a confinement lady’s cost covers
Ask for a written breakdown: fee, live-in or daytime only, night duties, groceries and confinement items, transport, days off, and the plan if the baby comes early or late. For a full comparison, see confinement centre, confinement lady or home.
Tip from the Roseville team
When you ask for a quote, give your due date, length of stay and preferred room, and ask for every answer in writing.
Is there a cheaper confinement package? How to save without losing rest
Save by matching the length of stay and room to your needs, not by chasing the lowest price. At Roseville, the shortest package is 3 days 2 nights (from RM2,000), Standard rooms cost the least for every length of stay, and your husband stays at no extra charge.
- If family can help after the first week, a shorter package may be enough.
- Having your confinement at home? Book Roseville Muslimah Spa sessions separately.
- Packages include towels and a telekung; check our confinement centre packing checklist so you do not buy twice.
- Asking for a discount? Promotional prices are already shown beside the original prices; request a written quote for your dates.
Is a confinement centre worth it?
A confinement centre is worth it if you need rest, confinement meals and baby care in one place, especially without full-time help at home, and the cost will not strain your finances. If your family is healthy and ready to help, confinement at home is a good choice too.
What you really pay for is time to rest. The NHS advises mothers to try to rest when the baby sleeps, as rest can matter more than housework, and to ask a partner, relatives or friends for help.
It may be worth it if
- No one can help full-time, day and night.
- It is your first baby and you want guidance.
- You want neutral ground between two families.
It may not suit you if
- Your family is healthy, available and you are comfortable with their help.
- The cost would strain your finances.
- You feel calmer at home.

Frequently asked questions
Is a confinement lady cheaper than a confinement centre?
It depends on the scope of work and the provider, so compare total cost, not the base fee. For a confinement lady, add groceries, confinement items, transport and night care. A confinement centre puts room, meals and care in one price. Compare the cost per day of each option.
Can I pay for a confinement package by instalments or credit card?
You pay in stages rather than all at once. At Roseville, the RM1,000 deposit is paid upon booking and deducted from the package price; then 50% of the balance is due 30 days before check-in and the rest 7 days before check-in. Credit cards are accepted at the Roseville counter, and instant bank transfer is also accepted.
Is the deposit refunded if I cancel or my baby arrives early?
The RM1,000 deposit is non-refundable if you cancel, and cancelling less than 14 days before check-in means no refund at all. If your baby arrives early or late, tell us and we will adjust your check-in date, subject to room availability at the time.
Can I see the room before paying a deposit?
Yes. A villa visit at Roseville in Bangi Gateway is free, with no obligation, by appointment, and takes about 30 to 45 minutes. You can see the actual rooms, ask about the menu and allergies, and get answers about prices before you pay a deposit.
